Last night I watched episode one of the A-TEAM! Dirk Benedict wasnt even in it yet, ‘Face’ was another guy.
THEN I watched the first episode of ADAM 12, I LOVED that show as a kid!
Four episodes of Degrassi Jr High…
And today…
Brace yourself…
I can barely beleive it myself…
GREATEST AMERICAN HERO
I can hardly stand it! my 80’s culture receptors are humming with gleee!
We have some new stations on the digital tv service, one has westerns all day (BONANZA!!!BIG VALLEY!!!) two are vintage tv, gilligans island, love boat, (trying to contain myself here!) An all ACTION station, with the above shows, the DIE HARDS, TERMINATORS etc.
I am really really loving this!
What are your fave vintage tv shows?
I used to like Magnum, I wonder if they will show it, and the one Patrick Duffy was in, like aquaman, and the live action Spiderman…
I might write to the programmers, I am FULL of suggestions!
I’m always amazed that stuff I watched in high school and my early 20s is considered vintage–Greatest American Hero was pretty bad then, with the exception of Robert Culp; I can’t see that it’s improved any with age.
But, by the same token, the stuff I consider vintage, The Wild Wid West, The Avengers, The Six Million Dollar Man, have probably fared about the same or worse.
Did you like Tales of The Gold Monkey? I actually did.
I was always a big Scarecrow and Mrs King fan (I even ran a very large fan fiction mailing list for it for awhile - until it got too big for me to administer to any more) I also liked Dukes of Hazzard, The Monkees, Murder, She Wrote and Magnum, P.I. (it helped that my mom had the hots for Tom Selleck… it was on every week without question! )
I LOVE old TV Westerns. TVLand shows some of them - “Gunsmoke”, “Alias Smith and Jones”, “Maverick” and “Wagon Train”. Oh, and let’s not forget “The Virginian”, “Bonanza”, and “Big Valley”.
Anyone remember the VERY short-lived early '80s fantasy spoof show called “Wizards and Warriors”? It was utterly hilarious. I have a few episodes on tape. I would love to see the rest.
I taped David McCallum on Sci Fi (years ago) when they repeated his short-lived “Invisible Man” series. I like David McCallum - especially in “Man from UNCLE”.
Oh, and the fun series with Courtney Cox - “Misfits of Science”? That was a great show - very funny. Anyone else seen it? I know it repeated on Sci Fi several years back.
Every Friday afternoon on TVLand, they have their “Ultimate Fan” (this year it’s a guy named Paul Gobel) choose an hour of whatever he wants. I always try to tune in, because you just never know what he will pick. He’s come up with so-so choices that are easy to find on TV, like “Get Smart”. But I almost fell out of my seat (and I let out a huge squeal) when one week he chose an episode of “Johnny Bago”!!! This was on in the mid-'90s, and was HILARIOUS. An inept fugitive on the run in a Winnebago. I loved it. (And fortunately, taped it.) I just didn’t expect Paul to pick it! I love the “Ultimate Fan Hour” for that reason - you just never know what you’ll see!
Oh - what about “Starman”, with Robert Hays? I liked that show - very sweet. (Fortunatly, I have that on tape too.)
Oh yeah Sir Rhosis, Tales of the Gold Monkey! I loved that!
There was another one in the early or mid nineties, Key West? It was about a VERY strange part of Florida. Here’s a foreign import. “Luke’s Kingdom” from Australia. I don’t know when it was made but I watched it on KVOS out of Bellingham Wash. in the very early Eighties.
Nope. WW West is still pretty damn cool–I saw the tv series for the first time last year (it ran before I went to work, so I’d watch it after getting up in the morning). Heck of a lot of fun.
I have a feeling Automan would suck rocks these days–back when I was a kid, it was awesome, though. Between that, Wizards and Warriors (IIRC) and A-Team, my evenings were pretty full as a kid.
I liked Simon & Simon and Riptide. S&S used to be shown on A&E, Magnum PI still is. Some shows I watch on TV Land from time to time: The A-Team, Hogan’s Heroes, Barney Miller, and Get Smart. I also catch The Black Sheep Squadron on The History Channel on weekend mornings; they also ran a marathon Labor Day Sunday.
Was that the same thing as Baa Baa Black Sheep about the WWII pilots stationed on some island? I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when that was on, I barely remember it.
