I really loved this show when I was young, but after it got canceled, I never understood why I liked it in the first place.
I’m not walking on air, no.
I don’t believe it.
I can’t believe it myself.
Suddenly I 'm up on top of the world, but not really - I can see it on Netflix any time, so why bother with SyFy’s plethora of commercials?
I might try to catch a little bit. Recent rewatchings of Dukes of Hazzard and A-Team have not gone well. I might just let it go by and keep my memories pure.
I don’t have cable or satellite so I won’t be watching it…but I’d like to…be flying away on a wing and a prayer!
Sheesh, the only thing you guys remember is the song? What about the dramatic styling of William Katt and his unbelievably sexy Irish afro?
Bill Culp was worth his salt, at least.
I’ll watch a show or two. If I happen upon it during my regular watching hours. Otherwise, no.
I don’t like to share too much about my sexual fantasies when I was a young, impressionable girl, if you don’t mind.
I actually own all 3 seasons on DVD, so I won’t be watching them on air…I may play a few episodes from the NAS that day though. I found that the A-Team held up well…we’ll see if this does too.
I’m otherwise occupied with demonstrating how awful my TV tastes were when young with daily episodes of the Highlander TV series.
I’ll leave Greatest American Hero for another time.
Hmmmm do I tarnish the memory or let it rest in peace. Will this be on SyFy in the UK too?
I didn’t like the show when it first aired. Now, if SyFy followed it with an Automan marathon, tho…!
I bought the DVD set sometime last year… and no, the series hasn’t aged well. The theme song is still genius, and the characters are all great… but after a while you’ll start noticing that the flight scenes are all retreads from previous episodes. The stories are generally paper-thin, and, if edited better, would only be about twenty minutes long (if that).
Such a shame, because that show was a huge part of my childhood.
I’m somewhat terrified of the idea of Will Ferrell getting his hands on this property. Not that I’ve heard of him trying to do so, but after what he did to Land of the Lost…
Will they be showing the pilot for “Greatest American Heroine”?
The A-team held up ok for me. Murdock was less funny than I remember, and B.A. less imposing(the “I don’t wanna fly” shtick got old fast), but the Greatest American Hero, I couldn’t get through the first couple episodes. Maybe they got better, but it was all whining and interpersonal drama, with a couple minutes of superhero goodness per show, and most of that came from Robert Culp, not William Katt. And his heroism was the gritty, stick your fist in the bullet hole in your gut and keep fighting type, not the effortless super-heroism from most superhero sagas. I can appreciate that more now, but I don’t find it interesting. Mostly I watched it because I love Joey Scarborough’s theme song.
Enjoy,
Steven
Man, I loved that show.
Probably shouldn’t tarnish the memory.
Totally underwhelming…although Robert Culp was cool in it.
The only good thing to say about William Katt is that his mother played Della Street on Perry Mason (a hell of a secretary) and he did this flick called First Love(1977) with Susan Dey. The sex scenes with a topless Laurie Partridge were indeed worthwhile.
Nope. The only good thing I can remember in connection with the show was George Costanza using the theme for his answering machine.
