Is it possible to die from a broken heart, or is it just a saying? Do some people really just lose the will to live after losing someone that they love? How do they die? Is it a variety of reasons, or is there a single way?
It depends on what you mean, of course.
A broken heart is not allowed as a cause of death on the medical records. No doctor can fill in the blank with that anymore than they can use “old age.”
Do people lose the will to live? Yes they do. It may be sudden or take a number of months or years. Are you going to include suicide?
Most that I know of who may have died of a broken heart, had some underlying condition that got worse or was not controled. Someone may stop eating or just not eat well or stop taking medications needed, that leads to death. There is not one cause that I know of.
If this is personal, no you won’t die of this. It just feels like it.
You will get better and most likely sooner than you think.
Arf, no it’s not personal. I was just curious.
