difference between "international" and not in a PDA?

I’m investigating getting a PDA and am tempted by the PalmOne Tungsten E.

I found it for sale on NewEgg, twice.

Here as the “international version”

and

here with no mention of the version
There’s a $30 difference between them, though one has a rebate to knock the price down a little. Reading the specs, I don’t see a difference except in languages supported.

Help! Can someone decode the secret of the PDA?

“International” as applied to electronics and cameras USUALLY means that the item in question is “gray market” goods intended for sale overseas.

It’s not stolen, or anything nefarious like that, but as an “international” product, you will have no domestic warranty support - if it breaks, you’ll have to ship it off to an overseas repair depot, or more commonly, to the store you bought it from.

The primary difference in price stems from that lack of easy domestic warranty service and that they did not pay to advertise that particular item in the US.
