differences in coffee beans

What’s a “marago” coffee bean and how does it differ from the other kinds? I’ve seen it said that it is larger, but what’s the taste difference? Is kona a different bean as well? It seems the vast majority of coffee is “arabica,” so I’m just wondering what kinds there are and what the differences are.

Thanks.

Nevermind.

Just look for the biggest bean. That’s the QUEEN BEAN, and all the other beans are the worker beans that serve her!

Arabica and robusta are the two major types of coffee beans, coming from two different species of coffee plant – Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora, respectively.

Robusta beans produce a more bitter coffee; arabica beans are generally held to produce a better, less bitter coffee. However, robusta beans are usually more plentiful and less expensive.

Kona is arabica coffee grown specifically on the “big island” of Hawaii.

It’s short for Maragogype or Maragojipe, a cultivar of Coffea arabica; from Wikipedia:
