Silly-sounding question here. SDMB has now fewer colours and lots of little dots (not covering the masthead and general top bits) but all the posts. I’m inclined to think it is my PC or Netscape, but PC messes leave me so flustered and confused that I thought it worth checking.
So, there haven’t been changes to the apperance of SDMB, have there? I’m sure I saw it looking like this before and I somehow got it back to normal.
It sounds like, maybe, the color settings on your PC have been lowered.
You often see less colors and dots, when the settings go down from millions of colors to 256 or 16 colors.
Go to Control Panels and double click on Display. Then go to settngs. Take a look at your Color Palette.

It hasn’t been co-operating, but at least I can try dealing with that, rather than finding that, by some terrible coincidence, the SDMB itself had been changing colours too! And I often find Netscape throwing tantrums, so I wanted to be able to exclude the possiblity that I was looking at the wrong problem, so thanks for clearing that up.
Yup, I’ll go back to making sense of the manual. (Sound of hollow laughter.) Of course, I ought to be concentrating on that rather than following the board anyway! Thanks again.
