Digital madness Pt. III, digital cam + NT

The camera has proven to be great fun especially when combined with an underwatew housing, a pool party, some buxom cuties and a few beers. Amazing the wildlife you see under the sea.

Anyway, the only problem is not being able to download pics at work. My workstation is NT 4.0 service pack 6. No support for USB so no direct connection to the camera and no card readers other than parallel port. Is there a reasonably cheap solution to getting around this problem?

Damn. The camera is a Canon Powershot A10. USB port, no serial and uses compact flash memory.

Padeye
You mention you have a parallel port card reader, or perhaps I misunderstood. Parallel port readers are more difficult to set up compared to USB, but they do work.

If someone in the office has a notebook PC, you could buy a CF to PC Card PCMCIA) adaptor to download to their PC. Then they could e-mail or FTP the images to your PC. The PC Card adaptors do not usually require any drivers either.

I’d also suggest posting this question at http://www.dcresource.com

They have excellent message boards and an answer might be suggested there. You have to register to use the boards, but that’s not a problem is it. They’re good folks. I’d recommend the “removable media” forum.
