I also like to use sweet bbq sauce to dip fries (and hamburger) with. So, actually, my fries dipping list is:

A very chocolate, chocolate milkshake is a nice addition.

Eww-squared. That is even more disgusting than the fries thing, and it is not either a California thing, except maybe in some godforsaken hellhole like Castaic.
Amen to that, Munch. And it has to be their extra thick Special Chocolate Malt. Their fries are the perfect size and shape for dipping into malts. I wish we still had the Winstead’s in Independence- don’t feel like driving down to the Plaaahhhza.

I’ll thank you to keep those fries out of my shake. It’s bad enough that my SO dipped fries in her Frosties. Sugar is pretty much off limits for her these days.

I don’t think the fries with milkshake combo is regional - I’m in Calgary, and I like to eat them like that. Of course, I’m also partial to beer and chocolate.
You might want to try peanut-butter-filled pretzel nuggets from Trader Joe’s with your beer.
I don’t think they have Trader Joes in Calgary, but other companies probably make something similar, or you could get a US friend to bring you some.
It’s a perfect combination of sweet from the peanut butter, salty from the pretzel and bitter from the beer.
When i get a combo meal at KFC, the sides I get are fries (potato wedges) and mashed potatoes. I dip the fries in the mashed potatoes n gravy…yummy, but it feels guiltily incestuous.
However, KFC usually doesnt include the potatoes in styrofoam cups any more…that made them taste soooooo good.
Heh - I’m 5’ 11" and 158 lbs., she was 5’ and 95 lbs. Moderation is the key.

I’ve put ranch on my pizza before. Since I’m a vegetarian, it works pretty well because my pizzas are always loaded down with salad fixings anyway. 
Barbecue sauce is good too. For pizza and fries. Or grilled cheese sandwiches. Which are also good with ranch dressing. Or milkshakes. Or honey mustard.
I’m hungry now. Time for a grilled cheese, I think. Ooh, I have ice cream…
I like Fries with ranch dressing and buffalo wing sauce. Uno’s used to have this bufallo chicken sandwich with ranch dressing and extra sauce on the side.
