Yeah, this has been the cases since I got here. The only rule I’m aware of is that mods aren’t supposed to Pit posters. But they can respond to them in the Pit.
That doesn’t mean you have to think their response was appropriate or commensurate, of course. But, in this case, “dipshit” is fairly mild as far as the Pit goes. And it seemed fairly clear the mod was just reacting situationally to what they said.
However, I do not think it was a good idea for the OP include that insult in a title in ATMB, let alone modify a mod’s name into it. That makes it far more insulting. I don’t know you would assume that insult would be okay outside the Pit.
Moderators are permitted to post as regular posters, and as such are permitted to participate in Pit threads.
Users can Pit moderators, but only for posts that they have made as regular posters. For example, @carnivorousplant could have called @Aspenglow “Dipshitglow” in the Pit since her post was made as a regular user and not as a moderator.
Users cannot Pit moderators or admins for posts made while acting as a moderator. Any complaints about moderation must be made in ATMB, and must adhere to ATMB rules.
Personal insults are not permitted outside of the Pit. Intentionally calling a moderator a dipshit in ATMB is way over the line, even if referring to a post made as a user.
If anyone has questions about the rules, feel free to start a new thread, preferably one that does not violate ATMB rules starting with its title.
