Heading to NY 6.8.11 to audition for “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. Short on cash. Wondering how many blocks if I walk from Penn Station @ 6th avenue and 34th street to The ABC Building 57 West 66th Street New York City? Concerned about my COPD or T whatever this ailment is.
I know it’s late…Thanks , in advance, for any help.
According to Google Maps it will take you about 37 minutes to walk the 1.8 miles. It’s about 34 blocks.
The above is accurate. Just to note, it has been fairly hot and humid lately.
You can take the 1 train uptown (you get it inside Penn Station) to 66 st. From there its a five minute walk. $2.25 well spent if you have breathing problems.

And don’t forget that we’re the ones who made it possible for you to be a millionaire.
Thank you much guys!! Really appreciate that info! Especially about the local right there at Penn. Very clear, precise…Excellent mates!! Thank you, again! LOL…No…I won’t forget. Be sure of that! Tho I may have to resubmit for another date…$160.00 round trip on Amtrak to go 200 miles??? Blew my mind. Been awhile since I rode a train…
New Yorkers are famous for their friendly nature and welcoming attitude towards visitors. Feel free to ask a resident for help. Your best bet is someone in a nice suit talking on his phone - it’s probably a smartphone so he’ll be able to look up directions for you. Make sure to speak slowly and explain in detail why you’re in NYC - locals love that.
But that’s only .016% of a million…
Where are you coming from? If the DC metro area, there are buses which are a lot less expensive than the train.
***LOL…“Only .016 Milllion”…Yeah.
@ Mama Zappa…Arggh…Ya know?..I thought of a bus to the train station…HAD a bus to the station but DID NOT think to check buses to NYC!! If I can get rescheduled that’s the ticket…So to speak. ***
LOL! Glad to have come up with a useful suggestion!
The bus does take longer and if there’s a traffic jam, you won’t whiz by it the way the train does. But there are a number of bus lines that operate from a number of places in the DC metro area (Chinatown, Rosslyn, some of the MD suburbs)…
Typo Knig took Dweezil to NYC last fall and they did the bus north, and the train south. That way they got a train ride (important to Dweezil) and saved some money.
