Dirt 2 - Anyone playing?

So I picked up Dirt 2 the other day (Xbox 360).

I had played the first one and enjoyed it, but the “multiplayer” was a complete rip-off. Race a stage by yourself, post your time and let your friends post better times. Yippee.

The new game has a proper multiplayer, where you can actually race against other people and crash into them…I mean pass them.

The rest of the game has been a lot of fun and it looks fantastic. I am amazed that this thing runs so smoothly and looks so good. Codemasters really ARE Masters of Code to be able make this thing.

So, anyone else pick this up? Anyone interested in some online racing?

You can look online and find plenty of videos of the gameplay, but I just put one up myself.

I was starting a rally stage and managed to do a perfect barrel roll and keep on driving. It was unintentional, but very cool. I don’t think you can save replays from the game, so I quickly grabbed my digital camera and filmed the replay. I also rewinded the replay a couple of times to show the roll from different angles.

Anyway, it gives you a good idea of how good the game looks.

Played the PS3 demo, was decent, the track was too realistic for my taste! Looked great on my 57’’ mitsu

I’m anxious to give it a try but I have to wait a few months for release while they beef up the graphics for the PC version. Their goal is to make the prettiest racing game ever, and based on some demos I saw it looks like they’ll hit the target.

Plus rally racing is easily the most fun type of racing, especially multiplayer with extensive damage models.

My problem was with doing 90mph and hitting a SMALL bump and throwing me everywhere!
