Portions of the discobot tutorial require that the user post a picture or an emoji. Both of those, however, are turned off; and discobot doesn’t seem to recognize the words “turned off”.
Typing “skip” will get you on to the next thing. But apparently you have to put just “skip” in the reply box; adding anything else to it doesn’t work.
(It also mostly told me how to do things I’d already figured out, and failed to tell me how to do the things that I hadn’t, including the fairly basic one of 'where do you find the ‘start a new topic’ link. However I suppose people figure things out in different orders; I know one person’s “obvious” is somebody else’s “What the hell?!?”)
I have no idea, but I want to delete the Discobot. I tried to skip one thing, but when I try to skip another, it tells me it’s a similar message and refuses.
Tried that – that is, I couldn’t see the bot’s picture either, just its address, or the characters that form an emoji. Still got a message that images were turned off (I forget the wording.)
Also tried just putting colon and P in, :P, and got that message also.
– hmm, posted just now. Maybe it’s the comma?
– nope. Above line had a colon and P in it, as for the emojis; and it disappeared from the message when it posted.
We’ve got our five-minute editing back. See the pencil in your post – if you’'re fast enough – and I just edited my reply to you above twice, if you look back at it; each of the last two lines is a separate edit.
Yeah, but we now have full edit histories for each post that anybody can view. There’s no need for any limits. Probably a discussion for another thread, though.
