DIY ideas: How can I add something to enable this plush doll to stand on its own??

Ok picture speaks a thousand words.

I have this keychain plush doll. It cannot stand on it own and lies on the surface.

Is there anything DIY I can do to it to prop it up to stand on its own? Please suggest something simple!
Something like below (obviously it is standing because it is leaned on something):

Thanks ahead for any suggestions!

Two pieces of sticky velcro, one heavyish item to act as a base.

I recommend plugging “doll stand” into your favorite search engine.

You can probably find one the right size to hold it, though most are designed to go under a doll’s arm or around the waist.

I’d use a bent paper clip. But then, a bent paper clip is my solution to a lot of problems.

Part of it would be straight, and poked up in the “spine” of the toy. How long this part would need to be would depend on how stiff it is already, which is tough to gauge from the pictures. The other part would be looped into a circular base.

Or hang it from the ceiling.
I have a small green plush crocodile I have hung on gilt picture-hanging wire* a la *the old alchemist studios.

Teniers the Elder.

Put a cap full of lead fishing weights in it’s bottom.

A receipt spindle with an appropriately sized spike would work. If you were handy, you could make your own with a piece of wood and a cheap coat hanger.

ETA: Derp. I did not realize how small it was–it would look like shish kabob on a receipt spike.

Take some wire, fashion it into a hoop with a spike sticking up the middle.
Poke wire up plush toys insides.

Poof, cheap stand.

Use thin enough wire and the hole wont even show later

I was thinking about the joke how the tradition of putting an angel on the top of a Christmas tree came about.

It seems Santa was having a hard time the week before Christmas. Six of the reindeer had hoof and mouth disease, the elves were all on strike, and Mrs. Claus had cut him off for some perceived slight. Just then there was a knock at the door. When he opened it, there stood a cute, little angel. “I’ve got your tree, Santa; where do you want me to put it?”

Do a Google search for an “ornamental hanger stand”. Basically, it’s a c-shaped stand with a hook on the upper part, from which you can hang a Christmas ornament, or a small doll. (Add a loop to the top if it, if necessary to allow it to hang properly.)

Wish upon a star?

Thanks for all the replies!

Eventually, I clipped the end of the doll with a binder clip and took out the metal parts, and it stood. I thought it was unfair of me not to display the toy…

This is it:

I have started an instagram page for this toy just for fun.

Now that you have seen the toy, any better ideas how to prop it up? The current idea seems a little unrefined, and most of the photos I took had to put the binder clip out of view.
The ideas suggested were a little brutal to have to poke through the little toy…

Ideas still welcome!

What about some moldable plastic (Sugru), in white, to make a base? Rip the metal parts off the binder clip and toss the black part, replace the black part with Sugru (keep the metal part inside the toy).
