DJ Qualls should have his own show

I was just watching an old episode of Monk, where DJ Qualls played a nerdy techy detective. He was pretty good, as he often is.

Qualls is kind of trapped into being typecast, which doesn’t seem to bother him too much, but I think if he had his own series playing this kind of character, a geek detective, it would give him a chance to explore and expand his talents, which I’d love to see.

Maybe he can get a recurring guest spot on “The Big Bang Theory” as Sheldon’s nemesis?

He was cast a bit against type in the film “Hustle and Flow” and I thought he was one of the two most interesting characters in it.

My first thought was to put him on that show too but felt they already had enough geeky “friends” on the show.
But as a nemesis would be perfect.

Maybe if he had his own show, they’d have computers operating like real computers do, instead of the usual representation of beeping at every move, zoom-and-enhancing all the time, and never using a mouse.

I love him.

Sorry, that’s all I’ve got. He’s neato.

Not to name drop or anything, but DJ is a friend of mine. Here’s a pic of him hanging out on my back porch. He is an immensely talented and smart guy, and and a childhood cancer survivor to boot. He is all too frequently the best thing in bad movies. He’s currently got several things in the pipeline, and the last time I talked to him (which was several months ago) he said he thought this one was going to be really good.

And yes, he needs his own show.

When he did that Larry the Cable Guy movie – he needed an operation right? Or maybe his mom did?

I always figured it would be rude to bring up Larry the Cable Guy.

Interesting cast. Loved him in “Road Trip”, a guilty pleasure of mine (way stupid but some hilarious bits, most of them involving your friend).
