In the lost virginity thread, I was reminded that I was 19 and it happened on the 19th. I was born on a 19th, as was my grandpa. My maternal grandma, husband, mother, and brother died on a 19th.
My second husband’s oldest son shares my birthday. His wedding anniversary (second wife) is my daughter’s birthday.
If I go back through five generations, there are more, but I think it’s statistically probable when you’re looking at a hundred people, so not so much of a coincidence as the 19’s. It might sound silly, but I’m always a bit relieved when the 19th passes without disaster.
Any coincidences with numbers or dates in your life? Does it mean anything to you?
My birthday. But I’m the culmination of it all so it’s over now. I was born on my uncles birthday. He was born on his great aunt’s bday. She was born on her great great uncles bday. See? It’s one less each time. All leading to me. I assume that he was born on a great great great aunt or uncle’s bday but haven’t found that person yet.
My father first arrived in America.
My parents got married
I have my half-birthday
I first arrived in Japan
My wife and I got married (granted, that was a deliberate choice)
My second oldest boy was born on a Friday the 13th too, and he weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., which I attribute to the Slurpees (from a 7-11 store) I gorged on when I was pregnant.
My birthday is on 02/02. My brother’s birthday is on the 2nd of different month and my Mum’s birthday and my parents wedding anniversary are both in February. I have a cousin whose birthday is also on 02/02, and she’s exactly four years younger than me. Four is both 2x2 and 2+2. (Maybe that’s stretching it a bit).
If only I’d been born a year earlier, and then I would have turned 20 on 02/02/2002.
I graduated from undergraduate and Mount Saint Helen’s exploded. Whenever I see one of those MSH retrospective stories in the paper, I always give it a look.
When I was married to my ex-husband, we had a handful of weird birthday coincidences.
My sister and I (she’s 10 years younger) have the same birthday.
He had the same birthday as my older sister.
His mother, my father, same birthday.
My brother, his grandfather, same birthday.
And it was always easy to remember the birthday dates in our own family because they were either on the 17th, 27th, 18th or 28th.
I have an affinity for the numbers 7 and 14 for no good reason - certainly not as good as some of the reasons in this thread. I was born July 14th, and I always had either 7 or 14 as my uniform number when I played baseball as a little kid. That’s really it, though.
Now I associate most one or two digit numbers with professional athletes. That’s a little disturbing to me…
Dates as such, no. But my wife and I (and several friends and family members) always comment when the clock reads 11:11. In fact a couple we met in Nashville but who have moved back to their home in Louisiana used to make it a big deal to call each other at 11:11 (at night normally) on Nov/11 and chat about stuff in general. I don’t remember why but that has tapered off in recent years.
As for birthdays, ours are spread out so that we have various people’s birthdays falling on the: 2 4 5 6 7 14 17 18 19 20 24 26 29 30, and that’s just immediate family.
I have mentioned in another thread (can’t remember which) about having my wife take my picture next to the TV when the clock on the Weather Channel read 12:34:56 while I was holding up a card where I had written in big numbers 7/8/90. We has missed the opportunity the previous year to do that at 01:23:45 on 6/7/89. Such is life…
Birthdate is 3-3-66.
There are three different letters that make up my first and last names.
The total number of letters in my first and last names is six.
There are a total of six different letters that make up my first, middle and last names.
My address begins with 366.
I was born at 1:23.
The 789 is the trip gauge, which unfortunately in my car is above the odometer reading, but I think it would still count. Or maybe someday (trip) 123 (odometer) 456,789 !!
Getting the trip numbers right in relation to the odometer read is what takes all the advance planning
