Do "Autoimmune" Disorders Go Away With AIDS?

You will have to forgive my apparent naïveté when it comes to medical matters. But there is something I have been wondering for a while now.

Diseases like Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis and Seborrheic Dermatitis–just to name a few–are called autoimmune disorders because your body literally attacks itself when you have them. AIDS attacks the immune system. So… Does that mean that when you get AIDS all these diseases go away?

I would think not, at least not untill the later stages of the disease, and the immune sytem has been mostly eradicated. But by then, not having arthirits anymore is the least of your worries. I’m guessing that the immune system would continue to attack it’s perceived enemies untill it no longer had the strength to do so, albeit at a reduced rate.
