Do Crest Whitestrips actually work?

Before I blow 40 bucks on these things that could be spent on shoes, clothes or makeup, I want to know: Has anyone here tried them and if so, what were your results? Do they whiten as well as they claim? Which ones did you use? (Of the 3 or 4 different kinds, Premium, Advanced or whatever they call them) How many days was it before you noticed significant whitening?

Well I bought the Original Crest kind, I used them twice a day for three days in a row and noticed a slight difference. I found them annoying to use, and they bothered my gums a little, so three days in a row was all I could manage.

I have heard you have the best results if you use them after you have your teeth cleaned at the dentist’s office.

I have also tried the Crest Night-time toothpaste that is supposed to “loosen” stains overnight, and then you can brush them away in the morning but haven’t noticed any change at all.

I use a round of Crest Whitestrips Premium once a year. People have complimented me on my pretty, white teeth. They’re not optic white, but they are nice and pearly–despite all of the tea and coffee I drink. I think they’re worth the money (they cost me about $25 at Target, btw, not $40).

Like Sattua, I drink a LOT of tea. As a result, I find Whitestrips extremely valuable. Every once in awhile, when I notice my teeth looking a little icky tea-stained, I use two whitestrips- one in the morning, one at night - and the difference is noticable. And then I’m good for weeks.

It’s worth the $50 I pay for them because they last forever. Also, I don’t use the strips for the bottom teeth because my bottom teeth aren’t stained. So I use 'em for the top. Double for my money.

I have some horrible staining on my teeth. When I was in the kindergarten and first grade I got frequent ear infections, and the constant parade of antibiotics that my ear doctor kept putting me on stained my teeth for what I feared would be the rest of my life. About when I was in middle school, my dentist made a little tray that fit my teeth and gave me a batch of bleach syringes, but these only helped to a moderate degree, so instead of having stained teeth, I now had stained teeth with white patches.

About 8 months ago I dropped 40 bucks on the Crest White strips, and for me (YMMV), the difference has been amazing. Two weekends ago one of my friends actually asked “why the hell are your teeth so white?”

I’m satisfied.

Seems to me that the Google ads think your teeth are fine, but your drug habit is not.

I bought some of the Premium ones at BJs Wholesale. I ahev used them teicw because they are such a pain, but the other responses have encouraged me to stick it out. My teeth look noticeably yellow in most pictures of me.

Like the others, I’ve found that they help: they don’t take it to “THE GOGGLES! THEY DO NOTHING!” brightness level, but they do help if you drink a lot of tea and/or coffee.

However, I can’t use them more than two or three days in a row because they make my teeth way too sensitive. (As in, air that is the wrong temperature moving past my teeth is painful.)

There’s also a brush-on-gel that is available: I find this works better on my bottom teeth, as there’s one that is a bit crooked and the strips can’t quite get all the of tooth’s surface because of it.

<< Don’t force it, get a larger hammer. >>

That’s exactly what happened to me, so your story is especially encouraging.

Thanks, everyone!
