Do cruise ships, (say, of the type owned and operated by Holland America or Carnival Cruise Lines), have brigs (or some other confinement facility) on board?
If so, who can be confined there, and what would a person had to have done to be confined there?
Cruise ships have security guards (warning - PDF) but some states are considering passing a law that an actual peace officer within the state’s jurisdiction has to be aboard the ship (travel magazine article on California’s bill).
According to this news article they do.
I’d be very surprised if they didn’t. Heck, even department stores like Target have videotaped detainment rooms that Asset Protection agents handcuff shoplifters in until police arrive.
