When the revolution comes, whoever is responsible for creating Fireman Sam and more specifically the character Norman Price will be first against the wall.
I know he’s animated but I hate that little bastard.
Firefighters in the UK used to wear such blue serge uniforms as did NHS ambulance personnel.
During a series of riots in the seventies and eighties, such personnel found themselves targets of abuse and assault because their uniforms were similar to the police. That and general convenience meant that there was a move towards the current looser fitting and non-military/police style. The police are now following!
