Yep. There’s always that one parent that throws caution to the wind and over does things. The schools around here have an approved list of treats you can bring. Nothing else will be allowed.
In elemetary grades (I’m not sure what years exactly), there were various treat days when partents were asked to bring in treats. My Mom picked Valentine’s Day (because it was a realatively less stressfull time of teh year) and made cutout heart shaped cookies with frosting and classmate’s names on them. (we also did the card exchange – again I don’t rememeber when that stopped)

My old school district still does it with kids up to 4th grade (I checked with a friend who works for the district). Once they get to middle school, the classroom valentines stop.
They do here.
When I was growing up, we stopped classroom valentines in upper elementary school, and just gave them personally to our friends beyond that age.
wow my nephew came home with a haul of treats seems all the cards had treats attached suckers lix a stix ect gummy candy even the diabetic kid gave out doritos mini bags …….
