If so, what does whale combat entail?
I don’t know if whales fight, but elephant seals have very bloody battles.
I’m quite sure I once saw a David Attenborough show with footage of male whales fighting for a female. It wasn’t all that dramatic - basically they were just trying to shove each other out of the way and get at the female. From the viewer’s point of view, it was a whole lotta meat wobbling around. So to speak.

Probably significantly, sperm whales are toothed whales. And that’s what they apparently fight with.
