hey people i know i’ve posted some realy stupid threads but this one might not be.

i saw a tv show one night about a white kid calling his black friend the n word. another black kid said to stop because it wasn’t right. even though the two kids who were useing the word knew that they didn’t mean it in a bad way. i’m just wondering what you people think about it. ok now my little back up paragraph

don’t take me wrong im not racist. i’m just wondering why it’s ok for a black person to call another black person it but not okay for a white person to call a black person it even though they are best freinds and even though that white person knows the backround and history of the black man.

ok please don’t report me for this i’m just curios about every ones opinion

Well, an interesting question, tho’ discussed ad naseum. ((IIRC: One of this season’s episodes of Boston Public was on this subject.)) And it applies to a lot of different races and life-styles. My friends call me “Stupid Wop” sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me, however it would mortify my dad. Another example, one of my friends who is gay calls his gay buddies “fags” and the like, but they’d prolly not wanna hear me call them that.

Thing is, this might be better suited for Great Debates, and unfortunately because of the subject matter, degenerate into the Pit pretty quickly.

Anyway, this is me basically saying “I don’t know” to your question, and that you might have posted in the wrong forum. Even IMHO might’ve been a better choice.

I love the smell of concrete in the morning… it smells like…
