My cat has just thrown up. And it looked like she had just recently eaten as pretty much everything was still in one piece, but it was not a furball type incident.

But within a minute of this episode, she is back at her food bowl and munching away without a care in the world. Exact same food.

Now a human wouldn’t be able to go right back to eating what he had just puked up, but my cat does.

Is that because the reason for my cat’s vomiting is different from what causes a human to have the same symptom?

You know that dogs literally do eat what they just puked up, right? Not the same type of food, but the very same semidigested substance that just erupted from its stomach. I’d say that no human would do that, either.

My dog used to eat my cat’s vomit, and vice-versa.

I’ve known people who while out drinking have puked, and then immediately went right back to drinking again.
