Do you have friends who read SDMB? After reading your posts, have they come to think of you as remarkably intelligent? Highly opinionated? Wrong? Just plain weird?
(I don’t know of anyone outside SDMB who reads my posts. I’m just wondering.)

They really don’t tell me what they think of me after reading my posts. They are still my friends though so I guess that says something. 
My friends tend to think I’m a sexy, intelligent person. That’s fine with me.
A friend told me about this board, and I got hooked.
He is merely astounded that I am so opinionated. He’s been on the board nearly twice as long as me and has maybe a hundred posts. He is among those people who’ve called me an underachiever, but that was long before the board thing.
Well, no one I know surfs the Boards. If they did, however, they’d spot me in a heartbeat.

Friends? I don’t have any friends. Why do you think I post here? My acquaintances all think I’m an idiot, just like the folks here.

I have two before-this-message-board friends that have visited here. One even registered and posted a few times, but the hook didn’t set.
I know both of them read stuff I’d posted and I’m reasonably sure it didn’t affect their perception of me one way or another.
I have only one lurker friend (even now, his eyes are upon us…) who I turned onto the board that might read my posts. He’s more or less an intellectual peer type who probably could anticipate what I was going to say on any given topic anyway. My other friends out in the meatworld who think I’m a brainiac don’t read my posts because they also think I’m a huge dork for posting regularly on a message board in the first place.
People I know do read my posts here. They think if me the same way they normally do, since they post here too.

My friends are internet-backwards enough to still think that everybody who communicates via the net (other than email) is a lying sicko perv. They wouldn’t read this board if I held them down and forced them to read the page-o-funnies.
The few that I know of that have actually read any of my blather on this board think I’m some kind of super-chef.
But braniac? Hardly.

I’m certain Anthracite and Chronos are brainiacs.
Although I’ve talked up the boards to a number of my friends, I’m not aware that any have bothered to check it out. However, IRL, I’m the person in the office who always seems to be asked the weird and obscure questions, plus spelling and grammar questions. I’ve sent Snopes links and I can Google faster than most of them can finish their questions.
And, yeah, they think I’m weird. Dunno how smart they think I am, and I don’t much care.
Not the SMDB, but I got my girlfriend into Fark, and she often wants to know why I have time to post in the Fark forums but not to email her.
