Do pinhole eyeglasses work?

I searched SDMB for other threads about pinhole glasses with no results. I saw these eyeglasses, the Trayner ones, that advertise strengthening one’s vision:

Anyone ever use these? What results? The concept is interesting, but I never heard of this.

Well, I tried them at the eye hospital once as part of an eye test, they are… interesting… it is really hard to describe the effect, but they do enable you to focus on things better than you might otherwise; I’m not sure how practical they would be for everyday use though.
I’m a little put off by their misuse of the word ‘principal’ - where they mean ‘principle’.

They do work - like a pinhole camera. That’s all. They can’t improve your vision after you take them off. Any suggestion of that is simply false.

Their section on eye exercises is complete quackery. Those can’t improve your vision either.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. It seems that with most things, if something really works, many people have heard about it.
