Do politicians go too far?

Okay, as if Clinton answering questions on MTV about his uunderwear preference and playing the sax on network TV wasn’t enough, tonight I saw something which took the cake.

Alan Keyes, a conservative for the love of God, dove off a stage into a throng of young voters. He was told that being the first candidate to “stage dive” and “surf the crowd” would get elected, orr some such nonsense.

This all reeks of absolute silliness. Now, I appreciate a person with a sense of humor, or even a sense of the bizarre from time to time.

But this is just silly…

Yer pal,
Satan

I’m almost sorry I missed that!! I could have used a good dose of laughter tonight! Guess that sums up my opinion on it.

Lucky for the crowd that Ted Kennedy has already been elected…

A new low in pandering. Kind of makes you wonder what he’d really do for cash contributions.

“That it is unwise to be heedless ourselves while we are giving advice to others, I will show in a few lines.” - Phaedrus, translator of Aesop’s Fables

So did he actually crowd surf, or did they just let him fall?
I know what I would have done…

Alan Keyes? Crowd surfing??

If I don’t see the video, I’m going to insist that it’s a UL.

If Pat Buchanan ever decides to stage dive, a lot of people are going to get crushed to death.

It’s legit. I knew this had Michael Moore’s name all over it, and I just saw Mike show the tape on Politically Incorrect.

He got 100 of Des Moines’ finest pierced, blue-haired punks and built them a mobile mosh pit in a flatbed truck. He then drove the truck around to all the campaigns’ headquarters and said that since all the candidates were saying the same thing anyway, he would support the one who jumped into the mosh pit. (Brilliant, but not as good as his campaign contributions from fake organizations in the last election.)

Keyes probably jumped in because one of his advisors told him not to cross Moore. I mean, Roger Smith blew him off, and look where it got him.

Well, it didn’t work for Bob Dole…

For once you must try to face the facts: Mankind is kept alive by bestial acts.

The day a political candidate for the office of Presidency takes off all his/her clothes and does a spread in Playboy or Playgirl I will know they have ‘gone too far.’

Actually, I am reminded of Frank Jordan losing the San Francisco mayoral election in 1995 to Willie Brown in part because he had his picture taken showering with some radio DJ who showed up at his house one morning as part of a similar stunt… NanoByte can likely fill in the details… it was truly memorable!

Keyes has got my vote, unless Gore can come up with a better stunt. A music video? Duet with Shania Twain? Wrestle Jessie Ventura? Celebrity deathmatch with Bush?

Here’s the scoop, straight from Moore’s web site:
