Do Spanish speakers find HTML easier?

Something stupid just occurred to me today. The way <tag on> and </tag off> are used is very similar to the way punctuation is used in spanish… Do Spanish speakers find it easier to “get into” than English speakers?

If you think about it, in English we only use </?> at the end of a question…

[sub]This may be my stupidest post ever…[/sub]

I haven’t read all your posts, grendel, but honestly, that question’s pretty stupid.

This is why I love the SDMB.

I don’t know whether I’m more insulted as a linguist or a web designer.

…And THAT is why you should never post while drunk.:o

¡Si! ¡Muy estupido!

Wow. Yeah, that’s pretty stupid. Sorry.

That’s an interesting question. … Yeah, interesting is a good word. By the way, is there a name for using fake/funny tags like [sarcasm]I find this question to be very intellectually intriguing.[/sarcasm]?
