I want a geek styled glasses strap, ca. pre-1990.
For those who aren’t sure what I mean, they are simple black elastic, approximately 1/2" wide, with metallic snaps. Geeks, nerds, dweebs, etc…used to wear them to hold on their coke bottle glasses. They were still around about 1990, give or take, but, I haven’t seen them lately.
When I try to google them, all I get is geek glasses, or some of the rubber tubing types attached to geek glasses.
Does anybody here know where I can find any?

The ones I want are made of strips of black elastic. The ones on the links are neoprene (or somesuch). The ones on the links slip over the earpieces. The ones I want wrap around the earpieces, and are secured by the silver/chrome/ss snaps.
These are very similar. Very, very similar. Only, the part that holds onto the earpiece isn’t just the elastic and snap in this version, as would be the case in the ones I want.

Next time you and Farmer Ted are out and about stop at a local Walgreens. I know I’ve seen these and, more importantly, exactly what you’re looking for there.
I remember the ones you are talking about. A girl on my junior high basketball team had one. Then she replaced it with the neoprene kind as soon as those were available in the late 80’s.
Oops. I think you missed the joke. Farmer Ted was a character played by Anthony Michael Hall in the movie 16 Candles. He hung out with geeks. One of them might have known where to get geek glasses straps.
Well, I knew the Farmer Ted was some kind of joke, I just wasn’t sure whither.
It was much appreciated, however. I had also seen 16 Candles, but, I didn’t remember any names.
Also, I figured that somebody from Revenge of the Nerds would have had the straps, but, I couldn’t find any images.
