I don’t mean cities and such. I am interested in the locations of important events such as the actual birthplace of Muhammed, the exact caves and other locations where he received his revelations, the site of his death, the site of his burial etc.
I am contrasting this with the lack of knowledge of specific locations of things you think would be important to Christians such as the location of Jesus’s birth, crucifiction and burial.
Any help would be appreciated!
OK…
Anyone here?
Rereading my OP checking for offensive or unclear statements…nope…none…
Shamelessly resurrecting this thread in the hope someone will help…

Muhammed’s grave still exists as a place of pilgrimage, and his house also existed a place of pilgrimage until it was torn down by the Wahabis.
Stuff that happened “historically”, that is, Abraham and whatnot, are the same as in Judaism and Christianity- which is to say, doubtful at best.
Stuff that happened during and after Muhammad’s time- yes, we know where they are.
However, because Muhammad is not worshipped, they are not holy sites, merely of historical value. This is why the Wahabis tore down the house- they didn’t want Islam to become a religion like Buddhism where the messenger was venerated instead of a sole focus on the message, and some people were starting to show that tendency.
It may be the one time I think the Wahabis had the right idea.

Didn’t Muhammad found the Prophet’s Mosque? And he’s buried there, too, right?
And of course, when old Mo’ made his night journey with the angel Gabriel, he happened to alight at the Temple of the Mount. The Dome of the Rock was built only 50 or so years later to commemorate the site.
