I recently turned thirty, so I’m looking over both shoulders for signs of aging. Hair and skin are okay, and I’m no more out of shape than I ever was, but I seem to have been sweating a lot lately. Not nervous sweat, or heat or exertion sweat, just a steady dampness. Is this part of the aging process? Or should I just switch anti-perspirants?
Oh, you’re probably just pregnant.
Well, I did a little survey of the women here at work. Two questions: How old are you? and How much do you sweat?
The results so far: Three slaps in the face, a black eye, two lawsuits and a formal reprimand.
I’ll get back to you as I get more information.
“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
“It’s the same thing,” he said.
A quick survey of several female letter carriers between the ages of 30 and 50, drinking coffee down at Hardee’s a while ago, says no, you don’t sweat more as you get older. You just notice it more because at age 20, your body is just kind of “there”, you don’t think about it much. But by the time you hit 30, you’ve seen parts begin to break down, and suddenly you’re more aware of how your body works.
This is a family message board, so I can’t share with your their actually rather hilarious insights on the subject of “what to do about sweat underneath large and pendulous breasts.” Suffice it to say that the key words here are “baby powder”, and not the cornstarch stuff, either. Go for the real talc.

Now that you mention it…I think I sweat less. I am 41. But then I sweat more when my weight is up. More body fat must equal more heat. I also started wondering why other than the fact that I am not as overweight now as I was at 30. May be that I have smoked ten more years, and my blood vessels have finally constricted to the point that I’m not getting the flow I used too. Don’t know. Could be maybe…Global warming?

Depends on the fabric. Cotton? No sweat. Polyester? Sweat.
