Do you consume artificial sweeteners?

On rare occasion, I drink a diet Pepsi. It’s usually only if I’m out and bored with unsweetened iced tea, which is what I usually drink.

I do like the Zevia sodas JohnClay mentioned. They have stevia and erythriytol which sounds like an artificial sweetener, but isn’t.

Mostly I stick to water, coffee, tea, or iced tea, all unsweetened.

I rarely drink soda/pop. It’s either water, ice tea or beer (with a few margaritas or g&t’s mixed in)

On the very rare occasion I have had a sip of my Wife’s Diet Coke (say our order is mixed up), I find it hard to believe that people can drink that stuff. I can definitely taste artificial sweeteners

Yes. Lately I’ve started to mix up my Kool-aid with the off-brand Splenda equivalents.

I eat a low carb diet and use Truvia to sweeten things as required. I also drink Coke Zero. Last time I investigated, it seemed the jury was out on the impact of artificial sweeteners on insulin levels. What research have you discovered that leads you to believe it does, John Clay?

If there is a possibility it affects insulin or is bad for weight loss at all then I just want to be on the safe side. I know people who crave Coke Zero too strongly to give it up so I won’t preach to them about it.

I find Pepsi’s diet colas to be undrinkable since they took out aspertame. I used to enjoy their Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi, but the new version is swill. Even my mother, who usually doesn’t mind that sort of thing, doesn’t like the new version. Good move, Pepsi, you just ensured that Coke gets more sales, even the weeks when your brands are having the deals.

Fortunately they haven’t seemed to have fucked up Diet Dew (yet).
