Do you eat fast food in the car?

I’ve never understood this mentality; I’m sitting in the car & then I’m going to prolong my trip by…sitting in a restaurant??? Nope, unless I need a break from driving, I’m driving. Fast food is not only eaten in the car, it’s eaten will driving so that I can get to destination faster. I will never, ever, ever bring fast food home. There’s always something better to eat, whether that’s stopping at a pizza joint, or pulling a frozen meal out of the freezer.

Eating in a parked car is another no-no (unless really horrific weather). A couple of weeks ago, I was about an hour from home, stopped to fill up the tank & ma belly. Got a made-to-order meatball sam’ich at the convenience store; of course those have high potential to be disastrous one handed; especially when not looking at what you’re eating as there’s a good probability a sauce-covered meatball will come out the back end. There was a dragon sitting at one of the two tables smoking away. No thank you! I went to the other side of the store/parking lot. Stood to eat with my drink on top of one baluster & my sam’ich, in the wrapper, on the next one. At least I got to stretch my legs for the few minutes it took me to consume sustenance.

I never not eat in the car if I’m by myself eating fast food while a car is my conveyance. Why waste time and inconvenience myself by going inside? I don’t eat while driving the car, though. Well, sometimes, but only non-sloppy things like Egg McMuffins and the hash brown without catsup if it’s a really early morning multi-hour trip to a plant or supplier.

On one day road trips with my wife and kid, we’ll either go in, or eat in the car, depending on whether or not the kid is sleeping.

On multiple day trips, we try to make it a point to have stops where we can have lunch, or even park and cook/prepare on the side of the road. On our trip out west last year, lunchtime next to a random river about 10 times was one of our memories, especially because I was able to make a hot lunch.
