Do you enjoy taking a shower?

I rarely have time for a soak and I don’t own a claw-foot. Showers can be good, but a lot can depend on time allotted and frame of mind. If you have 15 minutes to get from sleeping shorts to front door showered/shaved/dressed, then its all business.

Still, after work, to strip off the clothes of the day for a slow hot shower? Given good water pressure, it can be rather nice.

Would rather bathe, if that was an option.

Love showers.

Felt a bit sweaty last night and didn’t want to go to bed that way, so I took a long shower. Still took one in the morning when I got up.

My morning ‘ritual’ is to crawl out of bed and stagger straight into the shower. Everything else comes after that.

I LOVE taking showers. It’s so nice and relaxing, and I love that nice, clean, tingly feeling on my skin when I get out. (I love water, I think I was a fish in a previous life)

Can you still get those non-skid thingys to put on the bottom of your shower? So you have some added security.

This would depend largely on whom one is taking a shower with, wouldn’t it?

*Sheldon: I have a series of whimsical duck stickers on the bottom of my tub

Penny: Yeah, Whatever, Can you just turn the water off and help me up?

Sheldon: (Turns the water off) They’re holding umbrellas

Penny: (Sits up) What???

Sheldon: (Helps Penny up) The ducks, My tub.

Penny: Uh-Huh!

Sheldon: They’re whimsical because those have neither the need nor the ability to use umbrellas. *

Love taking the shower itself, love being dry and clean afterward. I hate being wet and cold, though. I towel off as quickly as possible and wrap my hair so it’s off my face and shoulders. When I had shorter hair, I didn’t hate being wet so much. I guess it’s mostly wet hair that I hate.

I could and it sort of helps but if I drop the soap or shampoo or washcloth or loofa or anything really I’m sort of screwed and non-skid thingies won’t be sufficient to stop a fall.

Seriously, unless I am VERY familiar with the shower stall or there are sturdy grab-bars installed or a bench, and even then sometimes, a shower is a frightening experience for me. By carefully checking for obstacles prior to entry, strategic placement of my glasses for quick retrieval, and familiarity with my current shower stall I can accomplish a shower without excessive anxiety but really, there’s no way to make me actually comfortable in a shower. I take them because I don’t have a good alternative and I like to be clean, but what I really need is something I can sit down in so I can feel like I’m not liable to fall.

I realize that shower-lovers may have trouble understanding my viewpoint but really, I don’t like showers because they feel very unsafe to me.

I love taking a shower. After work I walk 3 miles home and when I strip down and get in the shower, i actually make “ohhhhhhhh” and “ahhhhhhhhh” noises because it feels so good.

Like the shower, particularly if I am really dirty and sweaty.

but I hate the five minutes after showering. Being wet and drying off.

I would sleep in my shower if I could, I love it that much. I want one of those huge showers with like nine different shower heads so I can get inundated by hot, showery goodness.

A long hot shower is the best part of waking up.

And does more for my aches and pains than Folger’s ever did.

Weekday shower before work, not so much, quick in and out.

Weekend shower, long and lovely, yes.

I shower twice a day, so I damn well better like it.

I also live in a climate where being too cold is rarely an issue. In fact, I often end the shower with a blast of cold water to cool my body down and prevent it from sweating once I get out.

Usually I enjoy showering, sometimes I love it. I have a nice shower stall in my bathroom, and a pole with shelves on it, so I can put my glasses on a shelf, and I can keep my shampoo there, too. I do feel a bit anxious if I have to shower in an unfamiliar tub or shower, because I get anxious if I’m separated from my glasses for whatever reason. But showering in my own familiar shower is a great feeling, especially when I’m not in a rush.

I like showering after a long, hard day. Sometimes I have little time for one, and that’s when it can become a pain. It’s a necessary pain, but a pain nonetheless. I do thoroughly enjoy lengthy weekend showers.

I cannot comprehend having difficulty navigating a shower with bad vision. I have bad vision and have never felt insecure in any shower, let alone my own. I can and do shut my eyes for a good portion of the shower with no worries. Perhaps my situational awareness is better than some?

I love long, candle-lit baths (and I’m a guy!) I even enjoy listening to new age music while doing so. The problem is I rarely have time for that anymore. sigh I am trying to make more time for myself, though.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been in a nicely built shower, where it’s comfortable to stand, and has plenty of room to move, and the temperature is just right. Instead they’ve been either in a bath, or in a tiny enclosed space where every movement I make risks touching a cold uncomfortable surface (glass wall, slimy shower curtain, etc), with additional risk of slipping on a slick floor.

So for those, and a few other, reasons, I said “dislike.”

A well-designed shower can make a big difference in your experience. My stall is a bit too big, really, but it has a low lip so it’s easy for me to step in and out of, and the stall is designed so that the curtain stays neatly inside. The fixture is a bit high for me, which means that it’s at a good height for average height people.

In general, my bathroom is a pleasant room, and just the right size. It is a little short on storage space, but I have a sort of built in vanity with drawers in the dressing area right outside the bathroom, so I can store things in the drawers closest to the bathroom. It works out nicely.

Like it. Definitely a positive experience that makes life better.

Sometimes it’s a chore, sometimes it’s a joy.
