Real simple: Do you prefer to take a shower, or take a bath?
Personally, I much prefer baths. In fact, I just took a long, hot and luxurious bath with huckleberry bath salts.
I prefer a shower for daily maintenance, (quick and easy) but prefer a bath for the actual experience. Provided it’s a large bathtub that one can soak in and not the standard tiny tub.
I love to soak in a hot bubble bath with a good book. But I have to shower off when I’m done or I don’t feel clean.
Baths in the winter, showers the rest of the year.
Hate those tiny pseudo-tubs, being around 6ft. tall.
For getting clean: Shower
For relaxing: Bath. Hot. With bubbles. Mr. Bubbles works just fine for me.
Showers, mostly.
Sadly soaking in my giant tub is not a thing I can do, anymore.
Too many Borg devices.
@ricepad that Mr. Bubbles will make your skin peel off and makes you itchy.
It will clean the tub pretty nicely. ![]()
For me, showers always. I have not taken a bath in decades. I prefer a good shower stall to showering in a tub.
I probably take baths twice a year, and I also tend to shower AFTER the bath! Belt and suspenders for this boy!
I have a skin condition for which baths are the best remedy, so I soak every so often. I had a soak just the other day because I was cold, and I had spare time. Always shower to clean off though.
I wish I could take a real bath in a nice big tub and stuff but in reality my bathtub is just big enough and management (me) doesn’t clean it enough so it’s not the most luxurious of experiences.
I can’t remember ever being warmer after taking a “nice hot” bath. The water cannot stay hot enough long enough to enjoy. So when I leave a bath, I’m quickly colder than when I got in. Or maybe even already colder before I get out.
Back when I had an outdoor hot tub / jacuzzi thing, now that could give a satisfying soak that stayed hot for hours. Yaay! But it wasn’t for cleanliness.
So for me at least, showers are better for getting clean. Showers are better for getting warm. Showers are more fun to share with GFs. So showers are better in all measures of merit.
Showers FTW!
Almost always a shower.
If I take a bath, it’s always to soak in for an extended period, such as when I have sore muscles, rather than as a cleanliness procedure.
Only once, in the last 50 years or so, have I taken a bath entirely for cleaning, and that was when we were staying at a hotel in Czechia in which our bathroom had only a bathtub, with no shower apparatus.
Showers for clean, but I take a lot of baths. One of my favored stress relief techniques is to make the water as hot as I can possibly stand and sit in my giant garden tub until I can’t stand it any more (15-30 minutes.) Something about the intensity of the heat seems to alter my mental state. The effect is immediate, I just usually stay in there reading.
For the last few years, I’ve started taking most showers while sitting down. It’s more relaxing that way.
If I do take a bath, I follow up immediately with a shower.
So it’s showers all the way for me.
This is me. I try not to get too comfy, and not take too much water, but I look forward to my sit showers.
Showers, always. After taking a bath I feel dirtier than I did before getting in. Now the filth is spread across my whole body.
Uh. Whatever kind of bubble baths you take at home, what you are supposed to do, at a public bath at any rate, is clean yourself and rinse off before entering the tub!!
I’ve never taken a public bath. But at home, if I’ve already cleaned myself, why would I get in the tub at all? What a waste of time and water.
I thought the choice in the OP was between shower and bath, not between shower and shower-plus-bath.
Bath, especially in winter. Showers only if I don’t have enough time for a bath.
