Suppose you take a shower at 7pm and aren’t going anywhere soon. Afterwards do you ever spend a good, mmm, say two hours lounging about in your towel? Strange question, I know, but I’m curious.
No, but I know people who do, and it bugs me.
I dread the towel falling off, and thus being the victim of an inter-family-flashing.
It also bugs me when I come home from a night shift and my step-dad walks down the stairs in his underpants. My brain : “putsomeclothesonputsomeclothesonputsomeclotheson!!”
Having said that, I often get up, on a day off, and use my computer in my underpants and t-shirt
Oh hell yeah, all the time. I’m a big fan of the “air dry” theory whenever I have the time for it. I do prefer my robe to a towel though, as the wet terri cloth tends to get a little itchy after a while. I also like to loaf aroud wearing just a pair of shorts when I’m not going anywhere or expecting anyone. It’s comfy and it saves energy due to lower AC usage
Oh yes, I should note - I live alone. I wouldn’t do this if I had a roommate (unless my roommate was someone I was sleeping with, then the rules of etiquette change a bit) or still lived with my family.
I am so terribly British. (shudder)
Heh, well I’m not parading around half nekkid in front of my roomies or anything. I’ll go in my room to get dressed and decide I plain don’t feel like it. Instead I’ll get some reading done, peruse SDMB, get crackin’ on a problem set or whatever. Clothes are too restricting.
That and I’m lazy.
(OW. I just donged my knee on the corner of the desk!) I find clothes more comfortable than lack of them.
I don’t any more due to my teen-age son, but in the day BC (before child) I frequently ran around the house in only my undies. For the same reasons as TFSC.
I took a shower about three hours ago and I’m just now putting clothes on. If I didn’t have somewhere to be, odds are I’d still be nakey right now.
The only time I find clothing more comfortable is when I’d be cold without any on, which hasn’t happened since moving to Houston a few months ago.
Another benefit to the whole not wearing much clothing when loafing around alone is that you don’t have to do laundry as often either
I’d say a good 75% of the time I’m on the computer I’m not wearing a stitch. But then, I live alone.
I usually spend a day at home kicked back in a pair of shorts. No sense in dirtying clothes if I’m just gonna be at home. And if someone looks in and doesn’t like it, they shouldn’t be looking in my windows.
I hate wearing clothes, I sit around quite often all or mostly naked when I’m drawing, painting or goofing off on the computer.
But I can’t stand sleeping naked. I usually wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to bed.
How weird is that?
I airdry all the time actually. That has caused some problems for me. See, when I was growing up and my family wasn’t in the house, I was free to walk around naked any time I wanted because A) we lived in the country and B) our house is 200 meters from the road and you coulddn’t see me anyways.
When I lived in London for a year or so I never worried about being naked because my appartment had small windows and they didn’t face anywhere anyways. When I moved to Toronto, I moved into an appartment where there is a big front window. It completely slipped my mind that someone would be able to see in until I happened to be sitting on my couch naked doing some Latin homework when there was a lady sitting on her balcony staring at me.
Anyhow, what I’m saying is yes sometimes I don’t feel like putting clothes on and if you live in Downtown Toronto, you know that first hand.
Yes. Often.
But the new man in my life… he’s a prude.
So… now I do not lounge in the complete comfort I have been used to for the past 10 years.
sigh
Well, at least you didn’t knee your dong.
Nudity is a dangerous thing.
Oh for the days of nakedness. When I lived alone I was practically a nudist. Depending upon the girlfriend we would often go through the day without a stich, but now I am living in a house with two women (I am a guy) and I do not think they would feel too kindly about my walking around in my birthday suit. Hell, I just had some serious sunburn on my shoulders so I would sit around the house without a shirt while the aloe lotion dried and I got some serious negative vibes about that. Prissy women, I wouldn’t mind at all if they wanted to walk around the house naked.
I don’t wear clothes at home.
Now that would be impressive.
I usually lounge around in my underwear at home. It’s a little (physically) uncomfortable sitting around in the nude, but I’d have no hang-ups around it otherwise. I live mostly alone.
Walking past the large windows and glass doors at the back of the house used to concern me, but I figured if someone wanted to spy over the backfence, that’d be their problem, not mine.
