I do, but the wipers on my old Civic were cunning designed to start piling up the snow again on on the driver’s side of the windscreen, from the top down
Thankfully I have a garage so most of the time my car isn’t getting totally piled on, but in the event I do have to leave it out when I’m parked somewhere I clean it off. Having a very small car helps - I had trouble reaching the roof when I drove a full-sized van. But my MINI is easily cleaned off.
College students are the worst for not cleaning off their cars. When I go to class I see the cars that only have a little spot for the driver to see out of slowly creeping down the streets - scary. I give them plenty of room.
It means out in the midair. A good number of folks do it here; I don’t know about preventing them freezing to the windshield, but it does prevent having to dig around in the snow with your hand to pull them out later.
I do clean off almost all of the snow on my car. The residual stuff on the front windshield gets removed with washer fluid.
I grab the broom on my way out the door and use that to brush off all the snow. I start the car first and broom the car. I go back inside and let the defrosters take care of any ice on the front and back windows.
When I take the Jeep I do the same but in my defense I am short and can not get all the snow off the top but I try to get the most of it off.
I always clear the snow off the hood. There is nothing worse than driving down the road with snow flying off the hood and front grill onto the winsheild.
