Just curious. I’ve been thinking about it since a couple of coworkers got chilly on separate occasions, during meal breaks. Me, I get warm.
If anything, I’m a little warmer after eating. Coffee makes me sweat buckets.
I can’t say that I have ever noticed one way or the other.
Neither. One of my friends swears that eating makes her cold, though.
I get cold. Pretty darn cold, actually. I assume it’s because all the blood goes to my stomach for digestion, leaving everything else cold.
Hot. And sleepy.
I don’t, but my older brother sweats like a mother every time he eats. Wonder what does that?
Same here.
I don’t know, but my nose runs. I hate it.
Nice, glowy warm. Sometimes I’m cold just because I’m hungry and I eat partially to warm up (and because I’m hungry durrr).
Insofar as I’ve noticed any change, I tend to feel warm after a meal.
That doesn’t happen to me, but it does to my father. I suspect some kind of shift in blood pressure is involved. Does it tend to start when you stand up after eating?
Get pretty cold here. To the point that after eating out, I can’t wait to get outside in the brutal southern heat. And that heat feels GOOD.
Not unless I’m eating pepper, cabbage or radishes, which can give you a warm feeling. Or eating something that really is hot, like soup.
Certain foods I have noticed make me feel warm. Grits ( a southern thing) I have noticed. Unfortunately in the winter, the feeling doesn’t travel down to my feet, but it seems to make my face flush and upper body warm… I can’t recall other foods off the top of my head, but there are some things.
I have noticed my husband and son sweat buckets too after meals with lots of different foods.
I can’t eat ice cream or other cold foods in the winter, I’m very cold sensitive, those foods make me chilled to the bone.
Often depends on what drink I’ve had, and how much of it compared to the food. (Soda makes me cold; coffee, hot).
I do, I get very cold.
Not that I’ve ever noticed. Maybe slightly warm if I’m eating a bowl of hot soup on a cold day, but that’s about it.
I get extremely cold when I eat. My mom always blasts the AC, so when I eat at her apartment I usually sit with a blanket on my lap and wear a sweater. I always bring a sweater or a jacket to restaurants as well.
Hot. My body burns extra calories by creating body heat. Or at least that’s my theory… my skin gets hot to the touch, stays hot longer the more I’ve eaten, and I remain skinny. If I go too long without eating, I feel chilled.
No, it starts while I’m still sitting. It makes me eat too fast, too, as I am antsy to get up to blow my nose but not until I’m finished eating.
For me I suspect it’s some sort of mild food allergy. Just too lazy to figure out what ingredient.
