Do you have a Black Widow Car Alarm? help me out

I bought a used car that has a Black Widow alarm system, and I don’t have any instructions on it. I’ve asked around at the local shops, but even the ones that carry these systems aren’t much help (the guys who know what’s what are too busy to help me, a non-customer, and the salesdroids are useless). So I appeal to the teeming masses.

I have a model BW 2800 (or so it says on the control box I found under the dash).

(Here you can picture kelly, in his suburban driveway, tinkering with a car and remote alarm control, car clicking, beeping, lights flashing, car starting, not starting, and occasionally having the alarm screaming away. I’ve been a real hit with the neighbors lately.)

My remote has two buttons. The first button is pretty straightforward, arm/disarm. But what is the second button for? When I push it, I get the same pattern of chirps/clicks out of the car, but the sound is different.

What is/are the “valet” functions? I found a button under the dash. It’s broken, but with a little shade-tree electricianship, I can activate it. I suppose this is a “valet” switch that I’ve heard about. What does it do? Is there a “valet mode”? How is the alarm supposed to work in this mode?

Anybody out there with some info/advice - I’d really appreciate it.
