Do you have a blog? What's it about?

I’ve seen your blog linked in another thread, I think, and I have to say that it is absolutely gorgeous. I’m no chef, so I’ll have to get my husband to start working on some of those recipes - they look mouth-watering.
As for me, I started a blog called Casual Games Review about a month ago, as a place to talk about games I love and a chance to do some “fun” writing (as opposed to the business writing that consumes most of my days).

It’s kind of silly that I am participating in this thread since I am a giant SDMB lurker and never, ever reply to threads…

But it was so much fun to open up all of your blogs in new tabs and bookmark them that I thought I’d join in.

I moved to a tiny town in Alaska from a suburb in Los Angeles this summer and kept a blog about it. I write about whatever I want, no pressure to keep it strictly Alaska-themed. And actually I am flying home to Los Angeles the day after tomorrow, so I suppose I’ll have to re-title it from Summer in Alaska to… something else.

I have a blog in which I try to present/explain sciency topics from a loosely information-theoretic perspective to the general public, with an emphasis on how a computational view helps shedding light on some otherwise puzzling features of our world (such as, how is it possible that we can explain anything at all, what kind of explanations are good explanations, etc.).

It’s partly just a place for me to collect my own thoughts on the matter, partly a resource for keeping other people’s thoughts that I consider interesting, partly an introduction for interested outsiders; I try to keep things non-technical enough for an interested outsider to follow, while still being detailed enough such that more well-versed readers can recapitulate in-depth arguments for themselves.

It’s got a more linear structure than most other blogs, not to the point where previous entries are pre-requisites to read current ones, but if in one entry an unfamiliar concept is used, chances are that it’s introduced previously, and I usually try to link things together in a way that makes sense. But as a long-term goal, I envision a structure that builds up to lots of current physical ideas and theories more or less from the ground up.

It’s still in the early stages, and I’m right now a bit too busy for regular blogging (the entries are quite long, and do require substantial time to prepare), but if I haven’t managed to alienate all potential readers already, a good point to get started, just to see whether you like the content and presentation, would be the first post right here.

Otherwise, the blog can be found at: http://ratioc1nat0r.blogspot.com/

My blog is Slithy Toves and Borogoves.

No particular theme, just stuff I happen to write about.

The name, in case you didn’t realize, comes from Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky.

My blog is Andrew on Everything where I write about everything under the sun.

Curious what Dopers think about some of my blog posts. This one seems to have hit a nerve and spread quite a bit through the Twittersphere.

It’s our family journey since our baby girl was diagnosed with SMA.

I have a blog that’s gone through many permutations over the years. Right now I mainly use it to publish reviews of episodes of my favorite TV show, Glee, which I write in the style of a literary critic. That style wasn’t my intention at first, but because I was an English major almost all my previous experience writing about writing was in literary criticism. I think it gives my reviews a unique feel in the world of television criticism.

I reviewed every second season episode, and I hope to keep up with season three.

I also write about other random things when it strikes my fancy. The permutation of my blog prior to the Glee reviews thing was something I called a “memory blog.” I posted one random memory from my life per day, until that finally kinda petered out.

My blog is called This Hour has 22 Batches. The title is an obscure reference to both my job and the TV show This Hour has 22 Minutes, which I know nothing about except that I like the title.

I don’t actually like LiveJournal all that much, but I’ve used it for years and I’m used to it.

I’m in between blogs at the moment. I started one back in January called 50 Books for 50 Bucks, the purpose of which was to read and review one book every week for a year (the title refers to the fact that I bought all of the books at the dollar store). I kept it up for six weeks, writing reviews that were probably too long because I’m overly amused by my own cleverness, before quitting because I couldn’t seem to figure out a way to attract more readers. It’s still up if you want to go read the reviews I did and encourage me to a) start it up again, or b) do us all a favor and take it down completely.

I also just set up another blog called Chew on This that doesn’t have any posts yet. I intend it to be primarily foodie-related – the first post will be a salivary recounting of the dinner Mrs. Chef and I had for our 20th anniversary, with pictures. I’ll also post recipes and other writing about food, probably.

I know this thread was a bit dormant, but seeing that it’s had some new posts, I’ll throw in.

I just started my first blog, about my effort to read through the 15 novels written by Isaac Asimov that fit into the broadly defined Foundation universe, in their fictional ‘chronological’ order (rather than publication order). It can be found at www.rdngfndtn.blogspot.com. Just two posts so far, hope to put up another tonight.

I started out using Blogger because I have a google account and it was pretty easy to get up and running. Haven’t bothered to look at any other services or providers.

I’d love to receive comments, and will attempt to return the favor by checking out some of the blogs posted in this thread.

Chef Troy! I was so sad to see your books blog die! Go work on it again! Go!!!

I tell you what – because of the format I set for myself, it makes more sense if I wait and start it again after the new year. I will do my best to do so.

Yes I do. It’s mostly about music.

Thanks, we recently changed platforms, concept and design and are still going through growing pains.

I know nothing about gaming, but I like your writing style.
