Do you have a nest?

The Harmony is the best invention ever!

My nest is on the left hand corner of the couch. The side table has my remote and usually a glass of water or a beer, and the coffee table in front of me has my laptop. My knitting organizer is on the floor underneath the table, too.

The husband takes the right hand side where his Cintiq is set up and we watch our shows.

My nest is my computer desk in my bedroom. Since I play wow and don’t have a tv, I spend every waking moment there. I don’t have a couch or anything. Just a computer chair and a rollout style bed (which is narrower than a twin so I don’t spend time on it except to sleep). I do hope to purchase a proper futon out of my next paycheck or 2, since I’m done paying the deposit installments in my new apartment, though. This sleeping arrangement is poopy.

But I also don’t watch tv so yeah. Just the computer chair.

Thanks to pain and joint issues, I spend a fair amount of time in bed.

Right hand side of bed is mine. Bedside table is actually an IKEA kitchen rolling drawer unit, has 4 good sized drawers. Top drawer is sort of a junk drawer, next one down is all my assorted medications, BP cuff, spare and normal glucometer. 2 lower drawers are assorted junkish drawers - notepads, pens, envelopes stuff like that.

I have an old styrofoam cooler that sits on the floor at the base of the drawer unit that holds several different 100 calorie snack packs of stuff - pretzels, pita chips, stuff like that that is approved by my nutritionist. The cat is old and fat and I originally put it there to give her a step up onto the bed.

I have a hospital table that holds my laptop, when I am not using it I raise it up to the max and shove it to the foot of the bed, where it sits over the pillow that I use as a knee rest and foot rest when I sleep [I find that I sleep on my stomach, with my feet over the bolster keeping my knees bent and my ankles bent so the joints do not get overextended while I sleep.] When we go away for the weekend, I lower the table and drape a blanket over it to make a cave for the kitteh to hide in while we are gone.

My bedside table lamp is an aerogarden, it is set to turn on at 5 am and off at 10 pm. It seems to help my SAD a lot.

My computer desk is also in the bedroom, and we have TV and a cable DVR box, so perhaps you could consider the bedroom my nest as I am either in the bed or the desk chair most of the time. My original computer desk in the living room has been taken over by mrAru, for his gaming computer and his laptop on the occasions he telecommutes. I no longer really needed it as I got laid off last spring from my telecommuting job.

Obscure is right…that’s one of my favorite movies, and I don’t get it.

Left end of the couch. The side table holds my soda, smokes, pens, remote, phone, sewing stuff. The shelf under the table holds books and magazines. My sewing is kept in a large envelope I slide under the couch when I’m not working on it (I’m mid-project, so it is kept out for most of the day - a stitch here, a stitch there. When I go to bed, it goes into the feline-free zone). I have my slouch against pillow and blankie, too.

I don’t think I’d ever leave a spot like that. Sounds perfect.
