Well, the question says it all. I’m curious how many of you have an online journal? Is it part of a website you also run or part of a larger service like livejournal? You do not need to reveal the address/name of your journal. I’m not sure if you’re allowed to do so, anyway. (As for me, I have a Blogger, but it contains very outdated book reviews.)
Yes, but most people usually just call it The Straight Dope[sup]®[/sup].
Zenster: Ha!
I do have an online journal. I recently revived it, and I’ve made about 4 entries in the last 2-3 weeks. I don’t update every day, partially because I don’t have the time, partially because I don’t want to, partially because I’m not sure if people want to know that much about my daily life…
I’m still conflicted. I like the idea of a journal, be it private or semi-public, but I don’t know if it’s me. I either need to develop thicker skin, more resolve, or change my tack. Something like that…
Yes.
I do, but I sure wish I hadn’t told all my friends about it. Now even my parents are reading it.
Yes. If I ever find out my parents are reading it (as Einmon did), I will immediately delete the thing.
Yes (link’s in sig). My parents know it exists, but neither has got over their technophobia long enough to hunt it down.
ive had one on and off since '95. im going through an off phase at the moment.
for a long time it was part of a larger webcam site and everything that audience and community circus entails. now its mostly used to let my net friends occassionally know how my life is going.
my family know about it but dont read it.
I recently started one and I’ve never liked the idea of a diary/journal. It always seemed silly to me. Now, however, it’s a good form of venting or writing down random thoughts I have. This way I don’t get bogged down during the day thinking, “when did it become evolutionarily advantageous for us to lose the hair on our heads?” I can just write it in my journal and then forget about it.
To be honest, I’m not bothered by who may or may not read it, what they read, or if they are even interested. Anywho, here’s my obligatory link Frank’s LiveJournal
Speaking of LiveJournal … there’s actually a community for SDMB members here. To add yourself, just click under the community information. There should be a ‘join community’ button.
There are quite a few of us out there.
I used to have one, but then one guy, I had issues with, wrote me a whiny e-mail, basically complaining about the mean things I said about him.
Well, the things I wrote were true, but since I didn’t want him to be in the know about details in my life anyway, I took down the diary.
Nowadays, I write an entry a week for my personal reference (my memory is very bad, it’s nice to have that sort of extra memory in the form of a diary). However, it’s not online anymore, just sitting on my harddrive.
YEs I do but I don’t tell anyone. That was kind of the point of it being on line. I don’t have to worry about hiding it from anyone. I had security problems beofre with people readiong it and I need a place to keep my thoughts private so that I can go back and read sometimes what I thought at a certain time.
Yes. I have one. I post to it more than I post here, since most of my favorite Dopers have migrated that way.
I have one…
I have one but don’t post in it much.
I am a member of The Blog Collective.
It’s not really a blog, it’s more just waffeling, and since there are six of us, it takes the pressure off having to update every day, you can just go in and babble when you fancy.
Leave a message on the tagboard if you drop by, it makes One so happy
Yes. I have two, but the second one’s a secret!
Yes, I have one. The link’s between my e-mail and the search button. Huzzah for LiveJournal.
I have a live journal login but I never use it. I read a few other folks journals once in a great while (every few months) and I think I’ve written about 5 comments.
