Do you have any books on tape/cd/mp3 I can borrow?

I am driving across country by my self in about a month. If anyone has any books on tape that are sittin around gathering dust, I may be interested in borrowing them.

This is a stretch I realize. Why would you ship valuable media to someone you do not know? Well I thought I would at least give it a shot!

It could work something like this:

You send me the audiobook, I use it for the trip, I send it back with a check included for your initial shipping

OR

I could prepay your shipping via paypal.

Any takers? Please use this email address or post here is you may have something I could use!

You mention mp3s, why don’t you just download audio books to your player?

Another idea is to go to your local library and borrow the audio books of your choice and then mail them back when you are through with them…we used to do this on family trips with each kid having their own walkman and book. Brilliant.

You can also buy cheap plug-in speakers for your players so you don’t have to wear headphones.

We gave you several options in that other thread. I find it hard to believe that you still need more.

Why don’t you just invest in XM or Sirius satellite radio? They’ll work all across the nation.

I got a whack of them from the library, and I will renew them online. I’m driving from Maryland to Montana, and then north, by myself. My nine-year-old son will be along for the ride.

Zette informs me that Cracker Barrel restaurants have books-on-tape that you can rent. You buy the tapes, then return them when you’re done - to any Cracker Barrel - and they refund your money, less $3 per week that you have had them.

Ebay sells many of them in the 4 dollar range.
They also have a buy it now feature so you don’t have to wait.

The best thing is that after you are done with them, you can turn around and resell them.
