Do You Have Your 2001 Calendar Yet?

I’ve just been looking in the stores, and there’s no “2001” 2001 calendar! I mean, there doesn’t seem to be a 2001 calendar with pictures from “2001:A Space Odyssey”. Wouldn’t that seem to be a natural?

Of course, now that I think of it, there asn’t a “Deathrace 2000” calendar this year, or a “Space: 1999” calendar the yar before that. Clearly, someone’s asleep at the switch. I hope they get it in gear by 201, 'cause I’ll want my “Year we Make Contact” calendar then.

Hah. I went over to the Amazon website yesterday to see what calendars were available, clicked on the “Science Fiction” link, and was offered a wide choice of either “Star Trek” or “Star Wars.”

There went my hopes of twelve months of Olaf Stapledon cameos and glam shots of Nancy Kress.

Ooooh, damn, now I want a Powerpuff Girls calendar, too.

Oh, Rodd, I am already working on that Eve Golden calendar—but June is Florence LaBadie and October is Anita Page.

Hmmmm…

An Eve Golden catalogue would be great, but I’m holding out for: “The Girls Of The Straight Dope” calendar, swimsuit edition.

I’ve been getting my calendar one month at a time from this site:

** http://www.thenorm.com/ The Norm **comic

It has a new pritable or wallpaper calendar every month, based on old cartoonist styles with The Norm characters added.

I bought two last week - the Hello Kitty calendar with stickers, and an Onion calendar. The January article is “New Study Reveals: Babies are Stupid.”
