Do you know anyone who is a walking fire hazard?

Ugh, I have a cousin who has zero foresight when it comes to fire hazards.

He has several electronic heaters around his house. He leaves them on unattended sometimes. One time he left one on in the bathroom unintended with the faucet running. If i had not discovered it, the sink would’ve overflowed onto the floor. With the electronic heater being plugged, someone could’ve been electrocuted.

He sleeps on heating pads for back pain. Heating pads are not made to be smashed.

He used to have power strip trains. Another hazard. Never attach one power strip to another.

He has a large bundle of cords that touch each other, in his home office.

He has fallen asleep while baking food.

He has left his fucking house while baking or boiling food.

He has caused several brownouts. While those arent fire hazards, I’m like bro do you even consider that having too many appliances operating in one area of the house might overload the circuits?

I try to educate him about these dangers and he just complains that i’m nagging him.

There is a well-known saying that: “You can’t cure stupid.”

My wife tends to put things on the stove on high heat and then walk away from them. Luckily, I learned this early on when she quite literally melted our Bialetti coffee maker. As in a puddle of liquid metal sitting on the stove. After 30 years of me nagging about it, she still does it at times, and I’m constantly turning burners down. It’s a real concern and I make sure that I monitor things when she’s in the kitchen. This apartment building has a sprinkler system and I really don’t want to try it out.
