A couple of months ago, I was looking at some art quality photographs of frogs’ eggs and thought that would be a very neat design for a paperweight. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find anything remotely like what I’m looking for…all I’ve found is egg-shaped paperweights with frogs in them.
Basically, I’m looking for a glass dome or ball with a cluster of small clear balls with black centers inside of it. No real frog eggs in glass, though. Ever see anything remotely like that?
You may have luck if you use the words Murano or Venetian in your searches. Controlled bubble work would give you sort of the effect you are looking for.
Although, they are not strictly paperweights, Art Glass Marbles may be what you are looking for. Marbles are about the size of an average paperweight but are entirely spherical and need a base for display.
The Glasswurx site has many exquisite organic design marbles. I haven’t found any that are exactly as you describe, but there are some designs evocative of frog eggs.
