Do you know your Godzilla monsters? Well... do ya... Punk?!

Regardless of score, that admission alone is shameful. Even if you have no cable, you must have a friend or relative who does. Have you no one who will loan you their Shlockbuster card so that you may rent Destroy All Monsters?

That you would think that statement would help your reputation is bewildering. It’s like telling the judge that he should cancel the ticket- you were only speeding because you were late to meet the guy who gives you cocaine in exchange for the hearts of the children you murder.

I got 10 out of 10, and I’ve only seen three Godzilla films - the original, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla 2000. (I’ve also seen the American Godzilla, but that probably doesn’t count.

Anyhoo…

Go to a Used CD store that carries used tapes. All the old monsters for pennies on the dollar!

10/10

This is going on my resume!

9/10. Not bad… considering my sobriquet would lead one to believe I’d seen many, many Kaiju flicks.

5/10…Oh well.

If it had been a 20 question quiz with more pictures from “Destroy All Monsters” (Which had at least 5 or 6 that weren’t included) I might’ve scored slightly higher.

But on the other hand, had more monsters been included from that Godzilla-awful movie where a little boy dreams of going to Monster Island and a smoke-ring blowing Baby Godzilla (who might of been named Meenya) is his tour guide…I probably would’ve scored even worse.

Of course, in the original Sim City Godzilla would attack your metropolis, leaving you to clean up the mess. That giant spider-robot from Sim City 2000 was such a wuss in comparison!

I friggin’ hate multiple choice tests! 9 out of 10, easiest damn quiz I’ve ever taken, and which one did I miss?

MOTHRA!!!

Let me explain, though. The question calls her a baddy, but Mothra’s always been good as far as I can tell. But, I do know that in the latest Godzilla vs. Mothra movie, there is an evil Mothra that goes by a different name. unfortunately, I haven’t seen that one, so I had to guess. It was such an obvious choice, but the question was worded incorrectly, so I’m claiming my 10 of 10, damnit!

(note: the other Mothra’s not necessarily “evil”, it’s just that Mothra is the guardian of the inhabitants of earth, and her counterpart is the guardian of the planet, and because humans are screwing with the planet, other-Mothra was trying to wipe out humanity, and thus the conflict. Not necessarily evil, but not people friendly…and therefore a baddy. Hence, the question is wrong!)

9 out of 10 , I also got Gorosaurus wrong. Damn them to hell!

Channel 43, Northeastern Ohio, Saturday mornings and evenings. Wouldn’t trade those times for all the minature toy raygun trucks in Toho’s warehouse.

Heck, I remember the original Gamera vs. Baragon flick before Gamera was a good-guy.

Thanks but no thanks. The sight of a person tumbling around model buildings in a rubber suit does not thrill me the way it did in my youth. While I knew back in the seventies:

[ol]
[li] that my life would be over if I didn’t see Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla in the theaters[/li][li] that I was a lamewad if I missed a particular Saturday’s TV showing of Destroy All Monsters, Rodan, Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster, the rarely shown The Thing (the original Mothra movie, where it WAS a baddy, El Elvis Rojo), or the original team-up of Rodan and Godzilla against Ghidra.[/li][li]that owning a Rodan snap-together plastic model was way more esoterically cool than simply owning a smelly old Godzilla[/li][li]that, fire shooting out of his leg holes aside, Gamera was basically a pussy (and don’t even get me STARTED on Yongari, Creature From the Deep, with his visible, back-of-the-throat gas jet)[/li][/ol]

I feel little compulsion to partake these days.

In similar news, I don’t like my pizzas with extra cheese anymore, either.
