My dorky wife just got 9 out of 10 standing over my shoulder.
I hate this crap
Moving this to Cafe Society.
I got 5 mainly through test deduction (picking an answer that was wrong before when it comes up again, just going for ones that I’ve heard of at all, etc.).
The only one I knew for sure was Mothra.

I wasn’t really sure about the first one, it was a toss up between two options and I picked the wrong one. I was so close.
There’s a few monsters I don’t remember to well but I know a lot of the names. I spent many a Saturday afternoon as a kid watching these movies and the Gamera ones, I suppose I could have gone outside and played as my mother always told me to do but then I wouldn’t have this lovely pasty complexion and knowledge of Japanese movie monsters.
I got 9 out of 10.
Guess all those Saturday mornings in front of the tube weren’t wasted afterall!
Why didn’t they prove a real challenge, like Fire Rodan, the Gargantuas, or an “Identify the Mechagodzilla model” question?
10 out of 10.
Now there is a bragging right to be proud of :p.

9 out of 10. I got Biollante wrong…I don’t think I ever saw that one.
Woo hoo, 10 out of 10.

I had no clue who Gorosaurus was. I also kinda guessed on Baragon.
In my defense, I haven’t had cable, a decent vide rental place or the cash to rent videos, for years now.
In my further defense, I just finished watching Yog Monster From Space. And I have a very large Rodan hanging from my ceiling.

If you like giant monsters smashing cities, I recommend the game I Was An Atomic Mutant! . Though it goes for bad 50’s American movie than Japanese rubber suit theater. A good game, but it lacks a certain spark that the classics had.
Yes who could forget
Aargh!
The Movie Monster Game (IMHO the best of the genre)
Mail Order Monster (I have no opinion because I can’t get my copy to work)
Rampage (they recently put out a new arcade edition. Anybody know if a new home version was also released?).
I would go on, but something strange seems to be happening to that odd meteorite we’ve been studying.
Bow down before your master, puny humans ! 10 out of 10
To add to Doc Cathode’s list of games, an oldie but a goodie, the old SPI The Creature that ate Sheboygan, where you can play big G himself.
10/10
too easy.
9/10
It’s because Gorosaurus wasn’t named Baragon that a perfect score was not obtained. I will forever hate him.
Anyone know which film he was in?
9/10. I missed Mothra of all things. I couldn’t even see her in the picture.
The cattypillas are Mothra. It’s a baby picture!
See, I never even saw a catterpillar. All I saw a was black mass with a sliver of blue above it. The contrast on my machine is a little funky.
Hmm, I’ve never heard of it. But now, I must have it.
The Movie Monster game also allowed you to play as Godzilla. The other monsters were generic (giant spider, giant wasp, big killer robot) or thinly veiled swipes (the Glog instead of the Blob. Mr Merringue instead of the Staypuft Marshmallow Man). But Godzilla was the real thing.
Got 7/10.
I feel no shame, considering it’s been about 20 years since I watched a Godzilla film. Ah, the Creature Double Feature on Channel 56, Boston…
2 out of 10.
It just goes to show you that it’s only easy if you know the answers. I never watched this stuff. I remember going to a Godzilla movie when I was a kid (in the theater, Saturday afternoon, all kid audience) and I think there was a monster called Kog? Korg? Anyone?
I’ll see if I can find anything on imdb. Boy, I’m feeling old.
