Do you like attending ceremonies? If so, which ones?

I don’t know, sounds like it was pretty interesting! (No disrespect intended, purplehearingaid).

I’m really going to enjoy my ceremony of induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, as soon as the Veterans Committee gets around to voting me in.

I was in the college band so I saw three years of very long commencement ceremonies. The best part of that is there was a built-in cheering section when you walked across the stage. Now I teach at a college and get to see commencement ceremonies every year. They’re more meaningful when it’s my students graduating.

I’ve been to a couple ordinations for RCC priests. They’re kind of long but kind of cool in that you usually don’t get to watch ordinations.

The only ceremony I like is the Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador Inauguration. The 10-minute used to take place on the morning of January 1st at Tokyo Disneyland. I would make it a point to wait two hours in line in order to see this event. However, now the ceremony takes place 30 minutes after midnight on New Year’s Eve. :frowning:

I’m not all that hot on them. I absolutely hate weddings and funerals, for example.

Hate them, myself.

The least-objectionable one in which I was directly involved was my college graduation.
No caps or gowns, no lining up to get a diploma and shake hands. Just a short speech
of congratulations and best wishes for the future (translation: “thanks for the money, now get lost”).
