For me, I like Rootbeer warm. I also like Sun drop warm to.
You seem to think about temperatures a lot, Daniel.
I don’t normally do threads about topics like these, but I’m bored and got nothing to do.
I’ll drink pretty much any soda at room temperature.
This.
Many long years ago, I used to take 12 packs of soda to work. I’d keep a few in the little dorm fridge nearby, and the rest would be in their case at my desk.
Turns out…people steal sodas from the fridge. I learned to drink them at room temperature. It’s a habit now.
Root beer. Drink it warm. Drink it cold. Drink it with a big scoop of ice cream in it. Always good. Possibly the most magical invention ever.
I don’t like it noticeably warm but room temperature is fine.
Yep. The only drawback is that the carbonation is more active, so there’s a greater risk of back-blow up the nose. (OOWWWW!)
Same. AND I’ll pour it into a glass and let it sit, season and de-carbonate a bit before getting to it. Most of my friends regard this habit with barely concealed disgust :D.
Most soda tastes best slightly chilled to me. Not refrigerator cold, but slightly colder than room temperature.
Although my favorite is an opened and slightly flat Dr. Pepper chilled over night in the car. About 50 degrees on my food thermometer.
In China, a popular cold remedy is boiled Coke with thin slices of ginger in it. It’s weird when you try it but oddly, not as bad as you would think it would be.
I don’t like any soda warm. At home, it has to be chilled in the fridge. If I go out, I order it with ice. But warm soda just tastes blagh to me.
No but I drink them warm on occasion.
Does anyone else remember when Dr. Pepper advertised that it tasted good heated up, like on the stove? This was way back when.
Diet Mountain Dew. Years ago, DMD was my go-to drink of choice. Then, I got some horrible lung infection, and could only drink it warm.
Now, I can drink anything cold, but, I can’t do the Dew cold.
One of the soda vending machines at my high school was broken one winter, and instead of chilling the drinks it warmed them up, instead.
At first everyone was disgusted, but a minority of students came around to the idea, reasoning that a hot Coke was actually not too bad, when it was cold outside. Much like a hot chocolate. The cans did have a tendency to be overly foamy upon opening, and often the cans were warped. Also, they went flat pretty quickly.
They fixed it, after a month or so. I wouldn’t say that I preferred them hot, but it was alright-ish.
I like them best icy cold. I could drink something like 7Up or ginger ale at room temp and/or when they start to go flat, but not cola.
I had this same experience, only in college. I don’t actively seek out room temperature soda now, but it’s fine with me now that I’m used to it.
I prefer most sodas room temperature.
Hot Coke with with ginger (and sometimes lemon). The first time I saw it on a menu, I was sure it was some kind of mistranslation. But it’s not a bad drink on a sniffly, rainy night.
Room temperature is good for coke. Slightly chilled is okay too.
I drink warm beer too. Got used to it because I drink it so slowly.
