Do you like lima beans?

I LOVE limas, but only have them for Thanksgiving, for some odd reason.

Between eating a Lima bean and starvation I would at least give starvation some consideration.

Maybe it’s a genetic thing with me. Blech

I can vouch that the standard Blonde Butterbean is at least a quarter width, they are so large they are more accurately described a fifty cent irregular spheroids. Much larger or equal to even the widest green Lima Bean of the large type I ate way back in the 70’s and 80’s.

I don’t eat legumes anymore, but Lima beans and butter beans are my favorite.

luuurve them, canned frozen or fresh, mmmm lima beans…

Lima beans, no, butter beans, a type of lima bean, love 'em.

I like lots and lots of different beans.

But lima beans are on the short list of ones I really don’t care for.

Lima beans, like the Praying Mantis, are proof that there is a “God” and that said “God” hates me personally.

They’re only known as butterbeans here in the UK. I love them, especially in soups and casseroles. I think they’re sort of potato-ey - so I sometimes mash them together with potatoes to top a shepherd’s pie.

I love lima beans–little butter, little salt, some pepper. They’re one of the few beans I can eat warm (the rest I love cold).

I do not like them, which is strange because I like most foods and all other legumes. To me, they don’t have a discernible flavor. They taste like… mush. And have an unappealing stiff dry (mushy) texture.

Actually from what I understand of the large, green, Lima Beans is that they benefit from a long boil perhaps with a change of water- a good leaching- because of their inherently high level of cyanicides. Perhaps, that is why they harvest and process them young and small, per industry standards nowadays. Less likely to cause tummy aches. Maybe the ultimate antioxidant, though.
